Agro Maripá was founded in 1979 with a focus on the genetic production of horses for comfortable horseback ridings, with ballanced gallop and abillity to the farm’s life. Marcelo Baptista de Oliveira is a breeder of Mangalarga Marchador horses for more than 40 years. The Mangalargas Marchadores of Maripá have the same standardization, with similar genetic and morphological profile.
The breed emerged in Brazil in the early nineteenth century, and has as its main characteristic the beaten gait, which is distinct from the ones found in other marching horses in the world.
Currently, Agro Maripá is also involved in genetic production and sale of other species of animals such as Nelore cattle and Gir dairy, as well as Saanen goats.
