Mangalarga Marchador appeared in Brazil, in the south of the State of Minas Gerais. It descends from the Alter horse, a breed brought to Brazil by D. João VI, when the Portuguese court moved to Brazil in the early nineteenth century.
The Saanen goats, coming from French strains. With average production per goat of 4.0 kg of milk, the breeding stock has breeders and matrons, such as Sininho and Belita de Maripá, great champions of the International.
